About George Berneanou

Facebook

George Berneanou (Profile) was born in football. His father was a national team player for Romania and followed a professional coaching career right after. His older brother also served professional football , competing at the highest league in Greece as well as the national youth team.

But George was very early attracted to goalkeeper coaching. Following dad’s steps and guidance he was taught the Easter European coaching methodology very early on. Soon after getting his first UEFA certifications he started coaching Academy football in Alabama and Florida USA with the Tottenham Hotspurs Tallahassee.

His passion for competitive professional football brought him back to Europe where he ascended to professional men coaching, at the top Super league of Greece. Around that time he founded the 4 Goalkeepers Academy where he developed talent and organized the annual 4 Goalkeepers Summer Camp, and the 4 Goalkeepers Youtube channel.

Coach George has always been looking up to the traditional training schools, where world class footballers are developed. So the next step was England. He continued his UEFA education there and was offered a coaching position at Stevenage. The next season he was head of Goalkeeping for Barnet FC coaching both men and Women pro GKs as well as heading the academy department.

His speciality led him to seek knowl- edge of the methods of the greatest train- ing school for goalkeepers. So the next step was Germany. On August 2019, Coach George accepted the position of head goalkeeper coach for Viktoria FC in Cologne Germany.

Developing his training methods is coach Georges’ constant quest. Combin- ing the English realism with the German attention to detail and perfection has been a challenge. Most importantly developing the FLEXIBILITY to adjust to the needs of the player and the head coach.
