Kim Crabbe is a former US national soccer team player (1986-1989) and is a soccer coach in Wilmington who offers soccer training, soccer workshops, supporting all members of the community (SEE "Kicking Around the Community) who would like to play soccer at any level.
Crabbe is a member of the Virginia-Washington DC Hall of Fame. (SEE link) discovered while running on the streets by a local community soccer advocate. She went on to play ODP, and won State honors while playing at South Lakes High School. In 1985 she was a member of the NCAA Championship team at George Mason University. She became a pioneer in the game the following year when she was selected as the first African-American woman on the US Women’s National Team. She was an extraordinary defender who played in the first Women’s Olympic Festivals, National Cups, the W-League, at the amateur, collegiate, and professional levels, and internationally.
Coach Crabbe is a 30 year resident of Wilmington and now gives back to the game in the same spirit of how she was introduced. From player advocacy, service work in the community and schools, organizing soccer events, to coaching at the highest levels of youth soccer, you can count on Kimberly Crabbe to be a great coach, mentor, and friend to athletes of any level.
