- Mentorship: All coaches at the Fairo receive ongoing mentorship from Fairo Sport network coaches. Coaches will personally guide your coach in developing a personalized training plan tailored to your specific goals for both field players and goalkeepers, focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness, and game strategy.
- Video Analysis and Feedback: Each of your six (6) private 60-minute training sessions will be video recorded. Stephen Swanger will then review the footage and provide in-depth feedback to your coach, ensuring you receive the most effective and targeted training possible.

GOALKEEPER CURRICULUM FOCUS:
Bilateral Coordination: Improves agility and saves through movement symmetry drills.
Dexterity: Develops ball handling and hand-eye coordination through various activities.
Technique: Fundamental skills like diving, shot-stopping, parrying, and footwork.
Ball Handling/ Ball Management: Control and distribute the ball effectively in different situations.

Each Goalkeeper Session is based on 4 phases;
- Activation: Focus on improving coordination, agility, and reaction time.
- Technique Practice: Mastering fundamental goalkeeper Technique
- Skill (Pressure Practice): Adding plyometrics, incorporated movements to improve stamina and endurance, and decision making
- Unannounced Practice: Games without knowing what situations they will encounter to develop game awareness, decision-making, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Sample Training Activities:
- Defending the Goal Line: Body Shape and Positioning for catching, controlling, blocking, or smothering, understanding the “Goalkeeper Bubble.”
- Blocking at close range: Diving, parrying, and reactions. Techniques to control and redirect
- 1v1 saves:
- Defending passes into space, Reducing shooting space, Using body presence, utilizing footwork and diving in crowds, line of conflict, decision making, spreading and diving at the feet
- Defending long shots, extension and collapse dives
- Mastering various recovery techniques; Rocker, Swivel, Same-Side
- Reading, assessing, and attacking: Effectively dealing with crosses by reading, assessing, and choosing the best approach (attacking or defending the line)
- Initiating attacks: Transforming defense into offense through quick and accurate throws or kicks.
